The sound of the music...PUMPIN’!Members putting in WORK during their training session...ON POINT!The energy and the vibe within...OFF THE CHAIN!Participants attaining RESULTS...GUARANTEED!Yes, this is your typical scenario that occurs at Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance no matter what day of the week it is! And we don’t plan on slowing that vibe down for anything or anyone! The reason is pretty straightforward – RESULTS don’t wait for you or anyone else; you just got to get after it and make it happen!By ‘RESULTS’ we don’t just mean nor emphasize the physical components – fat loss, weight reduction, increasing lean muscle, etc. Those just happen to be a by-product of former practices and habits that we preach, promote, implement and live by. True transformation starts on the inside by making a conscious choice and decision knowing that there’s a need to ‘upgrade’ some facet of your life.Personally, I get lots of people who often ask me, “What makes Vigor Ground different than any other gym?”Before I start giving you the lowdown and the essence of what makes Vigor the one and only place that it is, it’s imperative that you understand that the culture we’ve created wasn’t an overnight process. It started as a vision – a vision that was so clear, that it was brought to life; a vision where Vigor Ground was more than just being a ‘gym’, as most people would call it; a vision where we could not only enhance but also enrich and empower lives - to truly identify and pinpoint the challenges and adversity that often times prolongs or inhibits the personal ability to move onward & upward; a vision where WE could all ‘Rise As One’!

Rise as One

As you know, NOTHING in life is easy and we apply the same demeanor into everything we do at Vigor. From our training programs to the conversations we have face-to-face with everyone we meet, we’re always keeping things real and straight-forward – for the sole purpose of making you a better version of yourself. Being brutally honest about the things people need to hear vs. what they want to hear is our approach. We don’t sugarcoat anything for 2 reasons:

  1. Hiding, ignoring or refusing to accept reality and/or the truth gets no one anywhere, especially if personal improvement and/or self-development is what your succession to plan should include.
  2. Lying to you/to yourself about exposing your truth negates the ability to create freedom from the toxicity, perceived limitations, doubts and fears that will catapult your life to the next level if you were to let go.

In other words, it’s impossible to dig yourself out of that hole when all you’re doing is digging yourself deeper into it!

Dig & Crawl

The creation of Vigor Ground wasn’t one of those fairy tale-like stories where something was built and people just magically showed up at the front doorstep eager to get themselves started on their health & wellness journey. We actually had to work hard to promote and get the word out to let people know what Vigor Ground was, what we specialize in, what we do, but most importantly how can they benefit by implementing our programs and services in order to upgrade any facet of anyone’s life.Going back to the question above, let’s first clear the smoke by saying that Vigor Ground is more than just a ‘gym’. If you’ve been a member with us for a while or if you’ve ever come in for a visit and experienced one of our training sessions, I’m willing to bet a crisp $20 that your personal experience may have exceeded the ‘get your workout in, get it done and get out’ expectations.We strive to leave an imprint in your life in some way, shape or form. Whether it’s making a great first impression from the start by shaking your hand, sharing a smile, or by welcoming you into our facility, the creation of a relationship based on trust and empathy starts there – from the time we meet face to face for the first time and forming a connection. That connection could be discussing a similar experience where we learned a positive outcome from a particular event. Or it could’ve been a situation where you were given a high-five by multiple members you just met earlier for the first time during one of the training sessions. No matter the situation, we always aim to instill our core values & beliefs into any and all who crosses paths with us.

Lead from the Front

Just the other day, one of our members who has been with us for about 2-3 months brought her friend in to our new member orientation. Her friend was eager to get things started but was also very nervous and overanxious about the things to come. I have learned that most, if not all, people who have ever stepped foot into Vigor Ground have felt the same way. What intrigues me is why do they feel the way they do? Threatened, so to say? One of our friends and colleagues, Dax Moy, spent some time with the Vigor Team teaching us the concepts & principles of brain science and the feelings & emotions that tie in with ‘threat’. He states that “threat is simply the inability to predict the future while also not being able to create the appropriate response based on that prediction.”As a coach, I could relate to that while putting myself in the shoes of those first-time visitors who walk into our facility and witness the ‘mayhem’ of people sweating, the loud music, coaches walking around amped up full of adrenaline bringing the motivation to the training session, etc.I often hear the remarks from afar – “Holy crap! What did I get myself into?!” “Can I really do this type of workout?!” “This looks really intense! I don’t know if I’ll be able to survive this type of training!”From my perspective, I ask the following: “WHY do you feel the way you do? And where is that feeling coming from? From where does it originate?”It’s pretty amazing how much info you can attain and gather from someone by asking those thought-provoking, open-ended questions! Not only that, but you can also get to the real & true reason as to why they want to upgrade some facet of their life. I can say with 100% confidence that it has more to do than just lifting a pair of weights or running on the treadmill!Getting to your “Why” has so much meaning and depth that it sets the platform for your succession plan. Discussing the things that you’re currently doing and understanding if it’s working in helping you get closer to your goals is key. If not, why? Why is it that you’re present actions, choices and decisions are prolonging the process in getting to you ‘Point B’? I say it could be a matter of discussing and making you aware of your SMART plan – making sure your goals are Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.People have heard about Vigor Ground due to our reputation about getting people ‘INSANE RESULTS’ in a short time period! Then again, “short time period” can be interpreted in many ways – weeks, months, years! The timing is cool and all, but is it that really important? Does it really matter if you lose 30 lbs. in a month? Is it even a realistic goal to shoot for? I can tell you that timing is of no importance to me as dedication and consistency is! All the matters is that you take the initiative to do something that will empower you to stay the course to your end result and stick with it. If timing is of concern to you, I will be honest and tell you that fitness and optimal nutrition is a ‘lifelong process’! It never ends! The only time it does is when our life on this earth expires.So, what are you going to do to TODAY that will affect your personal health & wellness for the duration of your life? Whatever you decide, just know that you need to seek your inner truth and be honest with yourself!
