We’re back!A lot has been going at Vigor Ground Fitness – Renton Gym - we’ve got many videos to post and articles to go up yet we wanted to jump this one to the front of the line because, well, it’s real good and we answered all the questions you have been sending in about nutrition.
Cody and I answer the top questions you’ve been sending in and elaborate on them. Here’s what we cover in this edition of the Nutrition Corner:==> Does IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) actually work?==> Is gluten as bad for you as they say? Who shouldn’t eat it and does it affect as many people as most people believe==> How much do supplements really matter, which should we take and why?==> Should protein bars be something that you reach for often? What do you need to look out for if you do get them?==> The importance of micronutrients (this connects to the IIFYM question)? This is a MUST to hear...==> What is the affect of nutrition on hormones and what we need to look out for?
Listen in and watch the new episode:
It’s almost impossible to not talk about mindset and lifestyle factors as well as other areas of life when we address nutritional changes. In all honesty we talk about changes from the short term into the long term and even though we help people get amazing transformations in 8 and 12 weeks, that is not a lifestyle change. We a look at a year because then we can create lasting changes that will stick because we helped address the core of the issues (habits, emotional connection to food, etc.) along with methods, tools and strategies that will fit within the individuals life and be something they are confident about and look forward to doing.Giving someone a generic calorie/macro based meal plan and saying: “just go do it” is easy. Coaching someone to a lasting change for good and having them become an influence for others to change is harder – but priceless. How many times have you been on a diet? How many times have you fell off?Do you feel like you’re on a roller coaster and can’t control you nutrition consistently?Does it feel like the only way you’ll get the body you want is to be super strict and cut out everything you like? Not the case, when it’s done RIGHT.We do fitness in the context of a real human life where we understand both of your kids can be sick, your mother in law is in hospital, you’re about to go to the gym and your dog pooped on the carpet, you’re stressed so your low back acts up and you have project deadlines at work. That’s real life and true coaching adjusts for that in your nutrition and training because we don’t expect or want you to be perfect, we just help you keep showing up and building the habits that will fit into your lifestyle and stick for good while you’re getting the results you desire (if someone is telling you need to be 100% compliant and strict all the time “or else” they’re actually doing more damage then good). It’s a process, one that is very worthwhile and not only is feeling and looking great worth it but taking back your own personal power is priceless (and will allow you to achieve in all other areas of life, too). You can have it all and make the transformation you desire but it takes a decision and commitment. In life you don’t get what you want or what you need, you get what you ruthlessly commit to. Live life by choice and not by chance. It doesn’t need to be a struggle. If you’re not looking for the quick fix (30 days, 8 weeks, etc.) BUT do want to see fast progress and are committed to a full life transformation this coming year then fill out the strategy session application below and let’s have a conversation (click on the banner picture):
